Fat Tuesday is proof that Hastings knows how to party and is the UK’s largest authentically timed Mardi Gras festival.

This time around it is bigger than ever with hundreds of gigs taking place across 21 venues, over the five days, and the majority of events are free entry. There is something for everyone, whether you want to chill out, dress up, or dance until dawn.

Artists of national and international repute as well as unsigned and local acts will be taking to stages all over town.

It all began in 2009 when musician Bob Tipler teamed up with events producer Adam Daly with the aim of creating the largest Mardi Gras celebration in the UK, both having long recognised the fact that Hastings had an incredibly diverse and well-developed music scene. The rest is history, and Fat Tuesday is now one of the most eagerly anticipated events in Hastings’ cultural calendar.
